Certified Automotive Mechanic (ASE Required) Location: Albany, Oregon | Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and certified Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide range of vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. This role requires strong attention to detail, commitment to quality workmanship, and a thorough understanding of modern automotive systems. Must have current ASE Certification. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and engine issues. Use diagnostic equipment to identify problems and determine appropriate repair solutions. Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and emissions standards. Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used. Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers about vehicle issues, repair timelines, and maintenance recommendations. Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in automotive technology preferred. Valid ASE certification required. Minimum 2–5 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic. Valid driver’s license and driving record compliant with company insurance policy. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Ability to operate diagnostic tools, lifts, and other automotive shop equipment. Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in various positions. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with specific makes/models or diesel/electric vehicles. HVAC certification or additional specialty training. Bilingual abilities (Spanish) a plus. Work Environment Fast-paced, team-oriented automotive shop. Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures. Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour, DOE (depending on experience and certifications).
