Cabinet Shop Foreman Job Description. Legacy Millworks is a growing and expanding custom cabinet company focusing on high end residential cabinetry. The Shop Foreman is responsible for day-to-day production activities within the shop and the management of inventory, equipment and employees and facility use. Must be well versed in custom design cabinetry and production techniques. This position must efficiently communicate with team members to convey any production/installation challenges with a positive and professional attitude. Responsible for ensuring all production is completed safely, efficiently, in a timely manner, and confirms the quality of the final product meets Legacy Millworks standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Shop Foreman - Must have custom design cabinet experience. - Ability to read and understand shop drawings. - Provides all shop employee training. - Oversees daily work of employees. - Implements and enforces company policies and procedures. - Follows protocols to correct employee work performance. - Assigns duties to shop employees. - Assists in repair, construction maintenance or other tasks involved in client work orders. - Reviews work completed to ensure it is up to quality standards and that all deadlines are met. - Schedules maintenance on all equipment and machinery. - Orders all materials through Purchasing Agent. - Operates shop machinery such as forklifts or manufacturing equipment. - Can operate a box truck; CDL not required but must have a valid California State Drivers License. - Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous materials. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Demonstrates strong leadership skills. - Possesses detailed knowledge of shop industry. - Team Leader - Is able to remain calm and clear-headed. - Is able to work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met. - Manages time efficiently. - Pays great attention to detail. - Knowledge in technology, a plus. - Bilingual, A plus - Must be able to pass a background check. - Must have a valid California State Drivers License. Shop Foreman Schedule The Shop Foreman is a full time position. Standard 40 hour work, plus overtime. Monday through Friday, start at 5:00 a.m. with some Saturdays.
