If you share these values, we would love to meet you. Come join our team! We are seeking a carpenter to work on building porches and deck on a project in Tyngsborough, MA alongside a lead carpenter. Duties may include but not limited to the following Position Responsibilities: A deck builder is a specialized carpenter responsible for the end-to-end construction of outdoor decks, involving duties like site preparation, digging footings, building the deck's frame, installing decking materials, and adding finishes like stairs and railings. Key responsibilities include client communication to understand needs, precise measurement and cutting of materials, adherence to blueprints, ensuring structural safety and quality, performing site cleanup, and often acquiring necessary permits. Design & Planning: Collaborating with clients to understand their needs, and reading and following blueprints or design plans to determine the layout and specifications for the deck. Site Preparation: Preparing the construction site by excavating the area, digging and setting footings, and ensuring a clean workspace. Material Management: Measuring, cutting, and procuring lumber and other necessary construction materials for the project. Framing & Structure: Constructing the deck's framework and support structures, ensuring they are level and secure. Decking Installation: Installing the decking material, as well as finishing elements such as stairs, railings, and trim. Quality & Safety: Inspecting the completed deck to ensure it meets safety standards and client expectations, and maintaining high standards of quality throughout the build. Client Communication: Interacting with customers to discuss project details, answer questions, and ensure their needs are met. Tool & Site Maintenance: Maintaining hand and power tools, as well as keeping the job site clean and organized.
