Description

As the Quality Control / Maintenance Technician, you will perform rental property inspections to ensure homes are professionally cleaned, identify damage, troubleshoot systems, and perform general maintenance repairs. This position requires regular driving between rental properties in the South Lake Tahoe area, including winter driving, so a reliable 4WD vehicle or a vehicle with traction devices such as studded tires or chains is required. The right candidate will have the ability to plan their day tactically, possess a general understanding of property maintenance and upkeep, have a keen attention to detail, and a great attitude. Due to the nature of the industry, Weekends and Holidays may be required. Work schedules are determined based on employee availability, existing staffing schedules, and market needs. Responsibilities: Travel between designated locations in the South Lake Tahoe region to perform job functions. Perform detailed quality inspections of overall cleanliness at rental properties following professional housekeeping services. Evaluate the functionality of various systems including HVAC/plumbing/electrical utilities, small appliances, electronics, gas fireplaces, spas/hot tubs, and cable/Wi-Fi devices; perform basic troubleshooting tasks for these items to restore functionality. Perform general property maintenance repairs including plumbing, electrical, heating & ventilation, landscaping, small appliances, and cable/Wi-Fi devices using proper methods. Maintain accurate logs and records of all work completed using a proprietary online database. Routinely evaluates and documents additional property upkeep projects in the database to maintain properties in peak condition. Transport and install door locks, parts, furniture, and housekeeping supplies as directed; remove and dispose of waste and refuse as needed. Regularly interact with guests, homeowners, vendors, and coworkers to ensure completion of assigned duties in a professional manner. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year of experience in property maintenance, preferred. Reside within 15 miles of South Lake Tahoe area. Possess a reliable 4-wheel drive vehicle or a vehicle equipped with traction devices such as studded snow tires or chains, in good working condition. Strong customer service skills and strong communication skills. Possess a clear attention to detail and must maintain professionalism at all times. Ability to work under direct supervision to learn job duties, then operate under occasional supervision to meet job expectations. Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing conditions as needed. Working Conditions Position requires employee to stand, walk, and drive throughout the shift. Mobility requirements to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and occasionally walk on uneven or slippery surfaces. Strength and stamina to perform light to medium physical work; ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds with the use of proper equipment or assistance from other staff. Specific vision requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and the vision to read printed materials and digital screens as well as operate a motor vehicle. Hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard and to operate touch screen devices such as cell phones, tablets, and laptops. Employees work indoors and outdoors, primarily in residential locations. Employees will routinely encounter exposure to extreme weather, steep or slick terrain, staircases, crawlspaces, lofts/attics. Employees may occasionally encounter pets and wild animals. Employees must use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous chemicals/materials and may encounter them through the course of their job duties.
