MPF Federal is seeking a Research Specialist to support project teams in completion of commercial and government clinical research projects. Perform duties with supervision by clinical research managers and project managers. May manage portions of projects under supervision of more experienced research staff. Create, review, and maintain project documentation according to project requirements. Coordinate clinical trial start-up activities and on-going active trial requirements. Investigate problems and resolve or recommend solutions. Coordinate with clients, sponsors, and site personnel to ensure project needs are met.  COMPENSATION: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annually This position is remote; however, the person should reside in the Bethesda, MD area.   Essential Duties:  Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the application of basic clinical research methodologies to meet protocol and regulatory requirements.  Develop client materials according to project requirements, including but not limited to, project-specific documentation, operating procedures, standards, and work flows. Monitor project changes to ensure documentation and systems/software conforms to new requirements.  Process incoming and outgoing project materials to monitor, verify, and track receipt of documentation and ensures appropriate distribution of materials to internal and external research personnel and sites.  Execute assigned portions of clinical studies. Carry out activities while optimizing efficiency, quality and consistency, while maintaining compliance with SOPs, policies and procedures.  Coordinate the activities of smaller, well-defined projects.  Communicate with clients, sponsors, and site personnel to ensure project needs are met.  Compile data, track, analyze and prepare reports including project status, project summaries, and recommendations. Support data management activities. Work with clients and internal subject matter experts to develop database specifications. Document specifications and obtain approvals. Perform data management activities as needed.  Prepare general correspondence, agendas and meeting minutes, reports, and other project-specific documentation. Ensure review, approval, and distribution to internal staff and external project participants.  Provide logistical support for committee meetings and DSMB meetings, including planning, arrangements, travel and post-meeting activities and writing reports.  Design build, and update spreadsheets and other tracking tools.  Recognize which decisions may have a consequential effect on the Project and make decisions based on experience, skill, and situation, consulting with and/or informing others as appropriate.  Maintain clinical research files and related documents.  Demonstrate a thorough understanding of company policies, procedures, and standards.  Ensure work is completed on time and is of the highest quality.  Perform related duties as assigned.  Requirements Bachelor’s degree in science, health, or related field. Master's degree preferred.  Two or more years of relevant experience. Previous experience within a pharmaceutical company, CRO, clinical site or within NIH is desirable.  Familiarity with FDA and GCP regulations required.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience using data management systems preferred.  Must be comfortable working in fast-paced environment and managing a heavy workload and multiple projects with competing priorities, with the ability to switch priorities quickly as needs change.  Exceptional interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.  Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.  Strong organizational skills; accurate and detail-oriented.  Demonstrated technical skill and expertise as it pertains to clinical research support. Inspectors perform visual and dimensional inspection of precision parts and make quick, accurate pass/fail decisions on many types of optics including filters, mirrors, crystals, prisms, and lenses as well as mechanical components used in conjunction with optical components. Visual surface quality inspections are often performed under 100 watt bulb in low lit room.   Although the location of the position is in Newton, NJ, from time to time it may be required to undertake duties at other Thorlabs locations.   Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to: Identify non-conformances through specified inspection methods. Ability to perform extremely detailed visual inspections on intricate and delicate parts occasionally performed under microscopes. Inspections are performed efficiently, with attention to detail. Measurement metrics are reported to keep track of efficiency and quality. Maintain proper records in our Manufacturing Database. Low friction interface to peers/vendors/others in interaction with regards to inspection. Measuring dimensions of optics with calipers and comparing them to manufacturing drawings. Constantly striving to continuously improve the process within the Thorlabs improvement systems. Reviewing metrology reports based on pass fail criteria. Running and maintaining metrology equipment as needed. Create advance reports and presentations. Ability to work with minimal supervision. The required PPE and training allow for the safe handling and processing of chemicals like adhesives, lubricants and solvents, and safe operation of job-related equipment and tools.   Requirements Experience: ·        Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience or related technical education. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.   Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Ability to learn, understand, and effectively apply sampling plans. Skilled in the use of handheld measuring tools and devices including but not limited to calipers and micrometers. Good verbal and written communication skills to operate in both individual and team environments. Capable of reading mechanical drawings and interpret dimensional tolerances. Adaptable to process and procedure changes. Capacity to convert from imperial to metric measurements. Ability to meet department standards for productivity and quality. Computer literacy using MS Office, Outlook, and ERP software is mandatory. Must have the ability to cross train in all areas of the department, including but not limited to visual and dimensional inspection, data entry, laser engravers, and metrology equipment. Due to the unpredictable nature of organ donation and transplantation, the Clinical Specialist must be ready to work outside standard business hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts. Success in this role requires flexibility, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care. _________________________________________________________________________________ Responsibilities & Job Duties: ·       Successfully complete both didactic and hands-on training at OrganOx’s Training Center in Madison, NJ. ·       Achieve OrganOx metra® certification within the timelines and requirements outlined in the training plan. ·       Provide training and ongoing support to organ retrieval and transplant teams on the proper use of the OrganOx metra®, ensuring full compliance with all OrganOx policies and procedures.   On-Call & Clinical Support ·       Provide 24/7 on-call coverage for approximately 15 days per month, including holidays and weekends for both remote and onsite clinical support. ·       Travel nationally to hospitals and Organ Procurement Organizations, to deliver on-site case support as needed.   Non-Call Responsibilities (Standard Business Hours) Organize initiation and refresher site visits, including educational sessions, goodwill visits, device user or surgeon training, in-services, fellow training, and discovery visits. Partner with Territory Managers to address site-specific needs, including customer site visits. Collaborate with liver transplant teams to collect and document data on organs perfused and preserved using the metra®, supporting the ongoing evaluation of product performance. Assist directors, managers, and other internal teams with assignments, both remotely and onsite. Prepare case study reviews with guidance from senior colleagues. Participate in scheduled virtual meetings and ongoing education sessions.
