Procon is seeking a Construction Inspector for NASA projects, based primarily at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection related to complex aerospace projects. The position requires the candidate to review engineering drawings and specifications, monitor ongoing construction activities, perform inspections, and ensure that all work complies with established quality standards. Requirements Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience, preferably within the aerospace or complex engineering environment. Strong comprehension of engineering principles and construction methods. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required. Experience with project management software (e.g., Prolog, Primavera) is a plus. Certifications OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification. Any relevant NASA-specific certifications are a plus. NICET certification in construction inspection is preferred. Specialized training related to aerospace construction and inspections is an advantage. Responsibilities & Duties Inspect roofing and related building envelope systems during all phases of construction, repair, and maintenance at NASA facilities. Review construction documents, shop drawings, and material submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and NASA requirements. Monitor contractor work for compliance with codes, safety regulations, and project schedules. Conduct field inspections and document findings with detailed reports, including photographs and recommendations. Verify installation methods, material quality, and workmanship meet contractual and industry standards (NRCA, ASTM, OSHA, and NASA technical requirements). Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and safety personnel to resolve technical issues. Provide input on corrective actions for deficiencies or non-compliant work. Maintain accurate daily inspection logs and submit progress updates. Support quality assurance/quality control efforts and assist in project closeout inspections.
