Instructional Floater/School Substitute ZEST Preparatory Academy Charter School is a K-5 charter school in Douglasville, GA (Metro Atlanta area). JOB EXPECTATIONS The Instructional Floater/School Substitute is responsible for supporting learning in ZEST Preparatory Academy classrooms. Roles and Responsibilities INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT Provide instruction and support to K-5 students in various subjects, including math, literacy education in the absence of the classroom teacher Follow lesson plans and curriculum guidelines provided by the regular classroom teacher Support and/or teach exploratory classes to include media, keyboarding, and or coding Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and development CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT SUPPORT Build and maintain relationships with students Demonstrate a sound ability to support a positive learning environment Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere. Support student arrival, dismissal, lunch duty, and recess COMMUNITY COLLABORATION Work collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, community members Support Field Experiences and other school programs Attend school and events SKILLS Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues. Knowledge of childhood development principles and educational strategies. Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students who may have special needs or challenges. Flexibility to work in different classrooms and adapt to varying teaching environments. Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans, materials, and student records. Ancillary Duties: Include, but are not limited to: Demonstrate positive support for the Board, administrative team, school staff, and the community Required to have prompt, regular attendance and be available to work on-site Perform other duties as assigned by leadership team QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
