Saw Operator - Wood Cutting (Medley)

Duties and responsibilities Operate and maintain automated linear saws to cut materials according to blueprints and specifications. Load materials onto the saw, ensuring proper alignment and stability for precise cuts. Monitor the saw operation, checking for any defects, issues, or deviations from specifications or tolerances, and adjust as needed. Measure and verify the dimensions of cut materials using tools such as tape measures to ensure accuracy and quality. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the equipment to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency. Perform routine maintenance on the saw equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and checking and replacing worn blades, drive belts, and other parts. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE, following lockout/tagout procedures, and ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others. Complete pre-shift equipment inspections and report any problems or concerns. Maintain accurate records of production and inspection reports. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Assist with other duties as assigned, which may include tasks such as loading raw materials and packaging and transporting finished pieces. Qualifications Proven experience operating precision saw equipment or similar cutting machinery. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Forklift experience and certification is a plus.
