1979 Mercedes 300d - $5,200 (Anchorage)

This is one of the Million Mile Mercedes diesel engines. It won't win any sprint races but in a marathon this car will outlast any of the "newer" vehicles. If the zombie apocalypse happens and there are EMP's that go off, this car will still be running, it doesn't need a battery or alternator to keep running after it is started. Speaking of safety, this car was built in 1979 when they used real metal in vehicles and Mercedes has a reputation for the solidness of their vehicles and this is the era that they earned that reputation. It has a great ride, Mercedes originally designed the 300d for businessmen who were always driving clients around. This is one of those cars that if you got for your kid, you wouldn't need to worry about them getting pulled over for speeding because, while it will go 75-80 mph, it takes a good long stretch of road to get it up there and they won't be burning the tires off between stoplights! It is a real good 20/20 car (it looks great at 20 feet or 20 mph). I hate to sell this gem but my life is heading in other directions and things are having to go so we can downsize. Some of the recent work that has been done: The valves have recently been lashed, The Injectors have been synced and break hoses, calipers and pads have been replaced. The problematic enviro system has been reworked with a manual adjuster. Comes with a set of winter tires on Mercedes W-123 rims. It has electric windows and all 4 work. There are some minor inconveniences that come with having a 46 year old vehicle, like there are no built in cup holders. The sunroof isn't working (there is something that broke or disconnected up there but you can hear the motor moving). The tags were renewed in May of 2025! $5200/obo Charlie
