Description

As a Radiology Technologist, you would balance the needs of patients and maintain efficient work flow of the office as well as provide support to the physician during medical procedures. In addition, you would ensure that the patient has an excellent service experience. This position is part-time or full-time, requiring 2-5 days per week (M, W, TH, Fri, Sun) with 4-9 hour shifts at the Manhattan locations (Dykman, St Nicholas, Chelsea). Responsibilities Operating Neuro-vascular OEC 9800 C-Arm during peripheral arterial diagnostic and treatment procedures in a premier office-based lab. Maintain facilities, equipment, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff. Check equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular daily basis. Responsible for transferring DICOM images to PACS system. Assist physicians with procedures. Additional duties as assigned. Must be able to reliably travel to each clinic location. POSITION PURPOSE Under general supervision of the Imaging Manager, the CT Technologist prepares equipment and patient for computerized tomography procedures. Safely and accurately performs CT procedures and functions, as ordered and directed according to established practices and procedures. Maintains safe environment to deliver highest quality patient care and accurate imaging. LATITUDE, CONTACTS/INTERACTIONS All positions of Huntsville Memorial Hospital are part of an interdisciplinary team, and as such, participate in the care and service delivery process through effective interaction with other team members. Primarily interacts with hospital staff, medical staff, patients, and visitors. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Education: Completion of formal radiology technology program required. Experience: none required, three years as a registered radiologic technologist preferred. Documented supervised performance of a minimum of 125 repetitions of computed tomography procedures according to the criteria of the ARRT preferred Licensure/Certification: Current State of Texas license and current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment, before patient care is administered independently. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Medium strength is required to position patients for examination or treatment. Frequent: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing & walking. Occasional: reaching, bending, squatting, climbing kneeling, twisting. Visual and hearing acuity required; depth perception needed to examine exposed film for pertinent details. Work is mostly inside, with good ventilation and comfortable temperature.
