Stone Yard Landscape Center in Altadena is looking to add a Yard Man/Salesperson/Grounds Keeper to their team. This person will be responsible for assisting in a variety of Yard Man/Sales/Grounds Keeping duties, including sales, customer service, receiving inventory, unloading and loading trucks, and keeping the yard stocked with essential equipment and product. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Knowledgeable in sales with yard materials, natural stones * Keep the yard organized, accessible and safe at all times * Water the plants daily * Assemble customer orders from stock and place the orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate the orders to a holding or shipping area * Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color * Fill up the fuel on the bobcat or the propane * Make deliveries on occasion * Assist in counting of physical inventory on the yard * Weigh and count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards * Be able to read customer orders and shipping orders * Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed * Assist in shipping and receiving, unloading the trucks and checking in the merchandise * May be assigned to facilities maintenance duties as needed Minimum Requirement/Qualifications: * Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean record * Must pass a drug test * Must have the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. * Must be bobcat and forklift certified or willing to learn how to operate a bobcat / forklift * Must have knowledge of products and gain more knowledge the longer you work here * Must have the ability to handle a fast paced environment, ensuring accuracy * Dependability – Job requires being reliable, responsible, dependable, and accountable for fulfilling obligations * Attention to detail – Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks To apply to this position please email your resume or visit the Stone/Yard office in Altadena, CA and submit an application.
