General Paint Labor-Fire Watch (Camp Pendleton) Employment Type: Full time position Description: San Diego Powder and Protective Coatings is a fast paced, family-owned business with 75+ employees for over 25 years, that’s serving a variety of products from civilian and military customers. - Hours of operation: 4-10 straight pay schedule, Monday-Thursday 600 am - 430 pm, + occasional overtime Fridays and Saturdays (40-50+ hours a week) - Compensation depends on experience for around $22-25 an hour, including a $40 a day per diem if commute is over 50 miles one way to Camp Pendleton jobsite. Company benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, 401K, annual performance bonus, and across the street parking. Responsibilities and Duties: The General Paint Labor-Fire Watch (Camp Pendleton) position has the responsibility assisting SDPPC in a variety of functions. Including but not limited to: • Primary responsibility is to assist in Paint, blast, and masking labor. • Cleaning and maintaining of spray and blast equipment. • Cleaning and preparing work site for installation projects. • Sanding, masking, and hanging product. • Fire watching during hot work operations. • Assist in loading and unloading of materials, machinery, and tools. • General Housekeeping as required. • Overtime on Fridays and Saturdays are expected as workload dictates. Skills and Qualifications: • Relevant experience operating paint/spray equipment or training in a related vocational program. • Ability to obtain clearance to work on Military/Naval base. (SDPPC to submit) • Experience with small hand, power, and pneumatic tools. • Any OSHA training is a plus. • Proven ability to understand work orders and properly blast/paint/mask parts according to specifications. • Prove strong work ethic and consistent on time attendance. • Proven ability to recommend process improvements. • Demonstrate ability to maintain organization and safety, on and off the jobsite. • Proven ability to consistently meet production schedules. Requirements: • Must be able to pass E-Verify. • Must be at least 18 years old. • Must be able to pass a drug test. • Must be able to perform basic math skills. • Must be able to read and write in English. • Must be able to understand quality standards and adhere to specific written and drawing instructions. • Must follow compliance and safety requirements and standards, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) daily. • Able to positively interact with onsite trades, customers and coworkers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs. • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. • Regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, walk, talk, and hear. • Occasionally sit, climb or balance. • Must be able to climb stairs to high locations while also working off scaffolding and ladders around 12’ tall. • Frequently lift/move 10-25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to work in outside weather conditions (hot, cold, wet and/or humid). Most job requirements take place in the warehouses, but some duties are outside the buildings. • Certain positions will need to understand drawings, plans, and specifications. • Air Compressor familiarity is a plus.
