(NBS) is a small organization in Berkeley, California working on improving healthcare, promoting healthy brain aging for all ages and demographics. We are excited to share that we have recently expanded our testing and research to South Bend, Indiana! The CCAB (California Cognitive Assessment Battery) Study is a project determined to improve the current state of brain health research and we need your help! Our main focus is on cognitive testing and addressing the disparities in diversity and representation that exist in current cognitive health research and treatment. Specifically, we are working on the development of computerized assessments that can help identify people at early risk for Dementia or Alzheimer’s. Our work is primarily funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). To learn more about the research we’ve done, please visit https://www.ccabresearch.com/ . We are currently seeking healthy, English or Spanish Speaking adults to participate from home in a paid study. Priority will be given to individuals 50+ years of age. Participation is simple: We’ll deliver a sanitized tablet computer to your home, and you will work on completing one cognitive assessment session from home, lasting 2.5 - 3 hours. A trained CCAB examiner will guide you through the process via a video chat and help you with any technical or test related issues. The tests are similar to “brain exercise puzzles”, and will measure things like reaction time, memory, and other cognitive functions. Once you are finished, we’ll pick up the tablet and compensate you $90 in the form of a check. Some assembly/tablet setup will be required by the participant! Eligibility Requirements: - Age 18+ - Native/proficient English or Spanish - Access to a quiet area for testing - Located with 30 miles of the South Bend, Indiana area - Completion of an online questionnaire for screening We are more than happy to answer any questions or discuss the study more!
