We pay a flat rate for inspections; this is not hourly work. Base rates at a 25-mile radius of your address begin at $45-$75 Out of area or larger inspection sites are paid based on your flat rate bid for the inspection. We pay monthly via ACH direct to your US based bank account. A 1099 will be issued to you each January for tax purposes. You must provide an FEIN number (available for free at www.IRS.gov) As a contractor you are responsible for providing the tools of the job, which include reliable transportation, a computer with high speed internet, a smart phone with a camera, a measuring wheel, a water pressure gauge, GPS navigation (e.g. Apple Maps, Google Maps), Microsoft Word and Excel programs. Once you have completed your first inspection you must carry professional liability insurance, also known as Errors and Omissions Insurance.
