Construction Skilled Labor Apprentice - Will Train (San Diego)
Looking for the right person to join our small but growing construction business. We are a custom design build general contractor and we do alot of outdoor living projects like building decks, concrete work, carpentry, masonry, framing, foundations, landscape etc. We are also expanding into larger projects like custom homes, etc. We need a helper to get projects done faster. Potential to learn many skills, different trades and obtain new skills. Great working conditions outdoors in the fresh air and getting exercise. Looking for flexible, reliable hardworking individual who is trainable, trustworthy, has ability to follow instructions, do high quality work, be detail oriented and take pride in their work. Skills or No skills (we will train). Hours will be 30-40 hours per week on average. (2) short breaks and 30 min lunch break included in pay. No tools or experience required if you fit requirements. STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:
Reliable vehicle: (if you have a truck can be helpful but not required)
Cellphone: (daily communication may be needed)
PERSONALITY TRAITS REQUIREMENTS:
Reliability: (shows up regularly when needed without constant excuses)
Good Attitude: (happy to learn new trades, learn skills over time and make more money, no mood swings or anger management)
Motivated: (wants to do their best, and doesn't need constant motivation to work)
Presentable: (preferably clean cut without crazy looking piercings, tatoos, etc that may scare customers)
Professional: (able to appear and act professional around customers on jobsite)
Hardworking: (some days will require more labor than others., some days will be easier than others, it depends on project.
No Drugs: no people who are alchol or drug addicts in an out of rehab.
Clean criminal record: Please verify if you have past convictions and for what.
Communication Skills:
Trainable: Have to be able to learn fast, have common sense, ask questions when needed.
Safety Conscious: Follows safety protocols like using tools safely, wearing protective gear like safety glasses, gloves and boots.
Arrives to job prepared: (lunch, water, food, snacks, etc)
Takes pride in their work: (no hacks or sloppy workmanship, must strive for perfection everyday)
PHYSICAL TRAITS:
Inshape & Ability to do labor: Work varies daily, may or may not include unloading materials, carrying materials like bags of 60lb concrete, mixing concrete in wheel barrow, digging trenches, carrying lumber etc Using picks and prybars, shovels and rakes. Some days will be easier like just putting in screws or cutting lumber etc.
