PURPOSE Serves as the Carpenter for the assigned department. Reports timely to project leader on site and performs tasks as needed/assigned. Adheres to safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Travels between job sites as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Provides labor as carpenter on projects as assigned, including but not limited to drywall hanging and finishing, acoustical ceiling grid installation, exterior insulation, framing, etc. • Represents the company in a professional, ethical, and courteous manner. • Must be able to comprehend basic instructions. • Willingness to ask for help when needed. • Must be on-time to jobsites. • Read Tape Measure, knowledge of basic carpentry tools • Basic Math Skills • Ability to Learn and comprehend basic instructions • Provides Own Transportation • Physical Strength and Stamina • Team Oriented - Cooperate with Ritsema field leaders in performing assigned tasks. • Be willing to complete additional tasks as needed. • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen. This position requires being able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. regularly, bending, kneeing, and twisting. This position also requires that the employee provide, maintain, and replace their own hand tools. Power tools and specialty tools will be provided by the employer. This includes planning work sequences, delegating tasks, and monitoring progress. • Team Supervision: Lead and manage construction crews, providing guidance, mentoring, and ensuring high performance. Address any issues or conflicts that arise among team members. • Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications. Implement corrective actions as necessary to address any deficiencies. • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure all workers adhere to regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections. • Communication: Interface with General Contractors, Superintendents, Project Managers, and clients to relay information, provide updates, and address concerns. Maintain clear and concise communication channels. • Resource Management: Manage materials, equipment, and tools on-site, ensuring availability and proper usage. Track inventory and order supplies as needed. • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, production reports, and any incidents. Ensure all paperwork is completed and filed appropriately. • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues that may impact project timelines or quality. Develop effective solutions to unforeseen challenges. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS • Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar role in commercial construction. • Proficient working with Drywall, Metal Stud Framing, Acoustical Ceilings, Firestopping, Scaffolding. • Experience working with EIFS/DEFS and Plaster is a plus. • Proficiency in reading blueprints and project specifications. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Must be dependable, professional and safety conscious. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS (will provide) • OSHA 30 Hour • First Aid / CPR • Hilti Power Actuated Tools • Aerial Lift Operator PREQUALIFICATIONS • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen. • Must be able to pass a background check. • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. regularly, bending, climbing, twisting. • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. • This position requires employee to provide, maintain and replace their own hand tools. Operators must be physically able to safely operate tractor, replace shear pins, and unclog blowers. Operators must be mentally and physically able to drive, operate, and work in adverse weather conditions. No shovel work is required. Tractors do have climate controlled cabs. No experience is necessary but snow or heavy equipment experience is preferred. Operators will receive thorough training on safely operating a tractor with an inverted snow blower.
