Position Summary The Xactimate Estimator is responsible for accurately preparing estimates for water, fire, and mold restoration projects using Xactimate software. This position plays a key role in the company’s financial success by ensuring estimates are detailed, compliant, and aligned with insurance carrier standards. The ideal candidate has restoration or construction estimating experience and strong communication skills to coordinate between field technicians, adjusters, and clients. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Documentation Create detailed estimates for mitigation and reconstruction projects in Xactimate (Level 2 or higher preferred). Review job documentation (photos, scope notes, moisture logs) provided by field teams. Ensure estimates comply with IICRC standards and carrier pricing guidelines. Prepare supplements, revisions, and change orders as needed. Submit estimates to insurance carriers, adjusters, and clients in a timely manner. Maintain organized job files with supporting documentation. Communication & Coordination Collaborate closely with project managers, technicians, and the office to verify scope accuracy. Communicate with insurance adjusters to negotiate fair pricing and scope approvals. Follow up on outstanding estimates and approvals. Provide clear explanations of estimates to customers and management. Project Support Track job profitability and ensure estimated costs align with actual production. Review completed jobs to ensure proper billing accuracy. Assist management in identifying trends or inefficiencies in estimating processes. Skills & Qualifications 2+ years experience using Xactimate in restoration, construction, or insurance environments. Strong knowledge of water, fire, and mold restoration procedures and terminology. Familiarity with insurance claims workflow and industry documentation standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Proficient in Microsoft Office and restoration management software (Service Fusion, Dash, or similar). Preferred Certifications IICRC Certified (WRT, ASD, FSRT, or AMRT) – preferred, not required.
