The Midtown Group is leading a search for a Help Desk Technician for a prestigious and midsized private school that urgently needs IT assistance. Ideal candidates will be recent grads who have supported students and staff while in school or gained some IT experience in an academic setting. Those who are accustomed to being a "go-to" technical resource or and capable of providing a wide range of basics and tier I and tier II support and ensuring a school's technology runs smoothly and efficiently will be very well received. What You'll Do Provide Exceptional Support: Deliver outstanding customer service to staff and students by acting as the primary technical point of contact for all technology-related issues Proactively communicate and set expectations with staff and leadership about solutions to technical issues Maintain clear and thorough documentation of all service requests and issue resolutions Manage & Maintain Technology: Configure, assess, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of school technology equipment, including computers, laptops, smart screens, digital whiteboards, projectors, printers, peripherals, webcams, microphones, and scanners Lead the creation, validation, testing, and management of student and staff device configurations Administer applications (e.g., Google Workspace) for student and staff accounts and devices Support implementation of learning management systems and student information systems Facilitate professional development sessions on educational technology tools Collaboration & Improvement: Collaborate with school leadership to design and implement system improvements that enhance school site technology Advise School Leadership on assessing and purchasing hardware to align with school standards and future needs Work closely with the infrastructure team/contractor to resolve network issues and test enhancements What You'll Bring You are a team player with a proactive mindset, curiosity and excellent time management skills. Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (required) Ability to perform the essential functions of the role (required) Two or more years of relevant work experience (required), ideally in a school environment (preferred) Experience with network administration and system maintenance (required) Device repair and maintenance skills: Apple device troubleshooting and repair (MacBooks, iPads, iMacs) Chromebook repair and fleet management Hardware diagnostics and component replacement Mobile device management (MDM) systems Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Grasp, grip, handle, or use hands for fine motor tasks.
