Our client, a leading heavy civil construction firm in the Carolinas, is hiring immediately for a qualified Field Engineer to support mid-sized NCDOT/SCDOT infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have 2–5+ years of construction engineering or estimating experience, preferably with a background in heavy civil work. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical engineering and cost support to ensure compliance with project design standards and specifications. Assist in project controls including contract compliance, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and job costing. Collaborate with on-site departments to resolve issues and support construction quality and project timelines. Develop essential job data including quantity take-offs, material pricing, labor and equipment costs for accurate project estimates. Research historical performance data and productivity reports to help improve future estimates and project planning. Potentially supervise, mentor, and guide junior staff to support professional growth and meet project standards. Represent the company in client and project management meetings to maintain strong communication and alignment. Requirements 2–5+ years of experience in construction estimating, engineering, field support, or similar roles. Strong understanding of heavy civil infrastructure construction processes. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience on mid-sized NCDOT/SCDOT infrastructure projects. Background with large heavy civil contractors or mid-size subcontractors.
