LaBella is currently looking to hire an Environmental Engineer in our growing, multi-disciplinary, Brooklyn, NY office. LaBella has over 1,900 employees in over 30 offices throughout 13 states. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to join a dynamic team working on exciting, multi-phase, technically engaging, and impactful projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in support of real estate transactions, entering sites into and managing sites in the NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) including Site Characterizations/ Remedial Investigations, Remedial Alternative Analysis/Remedial Design work and remediation projects. Prior experience with assessing feasibility/cost and detailed design for excavation and off-site disposal projects, in-situ chemical injections (oxidant and reductant approaches), sub-slab depressurization systems, and other remedial systems is required. The successful candidate will work with junior engineers, geologists and environmental scientists to design and manage field work including groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and surface water sampling, manage and evaluate field and lab data, supervise contractors and drillers, and support the preparation of reports and conduct review of reports developed by junior staff. This individual will be responsible for cost estimating, proposals, invoicing, and client management. Prior experience with environmental investigations and remediation at E-Designation projects is a plus. This position may have some limited fieldwork at times. Duties: Overseeing field staff for investigation and remediation work within the 5-boroughs and NYC metropolitan area. Overseeing field staff performing soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling. Overseeing field staff performing investigation and remediation activities and drilling on construction projects. Reviewing and organizing field data in a concise manner. Data presentation and assessment and report preparation/review. Preparing/reviewing deliverables on time and within budget. Maintaining open communication with project team members, the client and regulatory agencies. Representing the company in a professional manner and in line with firm's core values. Conducting work to professional standards and following firm's QA/QC policy. Requirements B.S. degree in Engineering (Chemical or Environmental) NY State Licensed Professional Engineer 7-15 years of experience managing Phase II ESAs and Brownfield Cleanup Program projects. Federal experience a bonus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental consulting team environment. Ability to work within a multi-disciplined group of professionals. Strong communication skills (active listening, written, and verbal) Organized with strong attention to detail Highly motivated, with excellent client service skills and a positive attitude Strong problem-solving skills Valid NYS driver’s license, lean driving record, and reliable transportation Salary Range: ($125,000 - $175,000) The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
