PRESS Architecture – Project Architect/Manager www.press-architecture.com PRESS is an award-winning architecture firm based in Spokane, Washington. Since establishing the office in 2021, the firm has quickly grown its portfolio including multifamily, light industrial and advanced manufacturing facilities, retail, adaptive reuse, and custom single family. PRESS has also established itself as the Inland NW’s leading mass timber design firm. We strongly believe collaboration is foundational to project success – which forms the basis for our relationship with clients, consultants, and contractors. PRESS is seeking a Project Architect / Manager who is ready for the next step in their professional career and development. The Project Architect / Manager position will work collaboratively with our senior staff and oversee multiple projects. Responsibilities across any given day may include project management, schedule development, feasibility and concept design, quality control review of junior staff work, Revit drafting, client engagement, consultant coordination, liaising with governing jurisdictions, and specification review. This position will also be responsible for owning their project budgets and schedules – working closely with the Principal Architect to ensure project and office success. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required – in addition to design and graphic representation clarity. Qualifications • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Architecture • Architectural license or positive progress towards architectural licensure • Minimum 8 years of professional experience and 12+ years preferred • Strong design, graphic, and communication skills • Be inquisitive, nimble, and collaborative • Proven history of critical thinking and design exploration, client engagement • Proficiency in conceptual design, space planning, construction document development • Proficiency in feasibility studies including land use evaluation • Strong proficiency in building and Washington State energy code implementation and navigation • History of working with governing jurisdictions and procuring building permits • Proficiency in architectural drawing standards and development, including detailing • Be able to run a project from start to finish • Be able to work independently and collaboratively • History of overseeing junior staff preferred • Be able to manage multiple projects at once Software Know-how • Revit (strong proficiency required) • Sketch-up • Google docs / Word • Adobe CS • Bonus: Lumion or other rendering software Benefits • Simple IRA with 3% employee match • Eight paid holidays • 3 weeks PTO, accrued • Paid annual AIA membership and NCARB dues Additional Details • Remote work may be a possibility; in-person is preferred (our new office build-out calls you!) • PRESS is a faster paced working environment that also prioritizes balance (work, life, play….) • Our office is ever evolving; if you seek an opportunity to join and help shape a growing architectural practice – let’s chat soon.
