Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our growing team. This position is responsible for producing accurate system layouts using AutoCAD, reviewing structural drawings, performing hydraulic calculations, and preparing submittal packages for review by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). This role is open to both entry-level and experienced candidates looking to develop or continue their careers in the fire protection industry. Key Responsibilities Design detailed, code-compliant fire sprinkler systems for various construction types, including residential, commercial, industrial, and government buildings Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals to integrate fire protection systems into overall building designs Provide technical guidance to field teams throughout the installation process Create precise system layouts using AutoCAD or similar CAD software Perform hydraulic calculations and assist with selecting system components and materials Stay current with applicable fire protection codes and standards (California Fire Code & NFPA 13) and apply them in designs Coordinate with local fire departments and building officials to ensure regulatory compliance Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency Qualifications Proficiency in AutoCAD Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and blueprints Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively Technical aptitude and willingness to learn industry-specific software and codes NICET certification in Water-Based Systems Layout is preferred but not required Experience in the fire protection industry is a plus, but not required for entry-level candidates Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience) 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off (PTO) and holidays Opportunities for professional development and career growth
