Job Purpose: To manage and enhance the network infrastructure and server environment for real-time Train Control and SCADA systems. The role focuses on maintaining 24/7 system availability, implementing security best practices, and supporting mission-critical transportation operations. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Take a lead role in maintaining and upgrading infrastructure supporting Train Control and SCADA platforms. Ensure continuous operation of four core Train Control System facilities and associated networking components. Administer both RedHat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows Server environments for security and uptime. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure a fault-tolerant network. Plan and execute hardware and software lifecycle upgrades for servers, workstations, and networking devices. Develop and enforce cybersecurity protocols aligned with industry best practices. Collaborate with technical experts and stakeholders to resolve system issues and develop enhancements. Maintain comprehensive system documentation, network diagrams, and troubleshooting manuals. Provide support for critical incidents and participate in rotating on-call duties. Contribute to improving operational response through the development of new procedures and support materials. Required Skills & Experience: At least 7 years of hands-on experience with SCADA or real-time control systems. 7+ years of RedHat Linux and Windows server administration. Proven experience with configuring and maintaining enterprise-grade routers, switches, and firewalls. Deep understanding of network security standards, protocols, and implementation. Full lifecycle experience in managing infrastructure projects. Proficient in fault-tolerant and high-availability system architecture. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience. Recognized industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or comparable. Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are a strong advantage. Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing and managing high-availability network infrastructure. Strong skills in technical writing, system documentation, and issue resolution workflows. Prior experience in 24/7 operational settings with on-call rotation. Knowledge of railroad signaling systems or transportation control environments. Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
