Description

We are a custom home technology integration company (high end smart homes and low voltage projects) needing to add a programmer / install technician to our installation team. We deal in a wide variety of high end and luxury design residential projects throughout the Portland metro area and greater Oregon, in addition to southern WA. QUALIFICATIONS: We are seeking someone ambitious with the right amount of experience and the initiative to grow their skill set and execute quality work. You will need to have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record. Training will be provided, but this is not an entry level position and we will only be considering candidates with at least some experience in the programming and installation of the systems we install, which include: - Savant, Crestron, and Control4 control systems - Lutron lighting and control systems (low voltage only) - Motorized shades/drapes/window treatments (primarily Lutron) - Wired and wireless network equipment - Distributed audio/video equipment and home theater systems - Rough-in and trim out/termination of structured low voltage wiring in both new construction and retro/remodels You will need to be organized and have top notch verbal and written communication skills. You should be a self starter with an eye for details who can work independently and is ambitious about troubleshooting problems and finding solutions without waiting on someone to tell you what to do. At the same time you need to be a team player who works well in a group environment and knows how to both give and take direction and feedback when collaborating with your co-workers. RESPONSABILITIES: 1. Installation & Physical Setup - Install TVs, projectors, speakers, and home theater equipment; rack installation of amplifiers, UPS, AV receivers, and network gear. - Rough-in wiring for new construction; retrofit wiring including fishing walls, cutting mud rings, and installing in-wall/ceiling speakers. - Comfortable working in crawl spaces, attics, and on ladders; proficient with drills, saws, and power tools. 2. Programming & System Configuration - Program audio systems including multi-zone amps, Sonos, and AVRs; configure custom audio routing. - Install, configure, and troubleshoot Savant and Control4 automation systems. - Lutron integration; install low-voltage lighting components (picos, bulbs, tape light), shade programming and installation, keypad programing, and troubleshooting. - Setup and support access control systems, including smart locks, gate relays, and garage/lift relays. 3. Networking & Connectivity - Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot network switches, routers, and wireless access points. - Configure point-to-point radios and ensure reliable connectivity for AV, lighting, and control systems. - Work with Araknis and Ubiquiti ecosystems; troubleshoot network-related system issues. 4. Surveillance & Security - Install, configure, and troubleshoot surveillance systems (Luma, ICRealtime). - Optimize camera placement and network/ control system integration. - Provide end-user access and training on how to find and back up surveillance footage/events. 5. Client Support, Training & Remote Services - Manage Zendesk tickets, client emails, and remote troubleshooting of AV, lighting, and network systems. - Coordinate with clients, team members, and contractors to schedule visits, repairs, and installations. - Create and configure client accounts on Savant, Control4, Lutron, Sonos, surveillance & OVRC platforms. - Deliver system walkthroughs, tutorials, and usage best practices; generate documentation and user guides. - Track ongoing issues and follow up to ensure resolution; Process RMAs for faulty parts; coordinate replacements with vendors. 6. Technical Knowledge & Cross-Platform Skills - Proficiency with Apple iOS, Android, and Windows operating systems for integration and troubleshooting. - Basic residential electrical knowledge; ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation. 7. Soft Skills & Professional Qualities - Strong communication and customer service; explain systems clearly, remain patient, maintain professionalism. - Problem-solving and adaptability; troubleshoot retrofits, on-the-spot issues, and complex system challenges. - Team-oriented and dependable; collaborate with coworkers, contractors, and clients while managing time effectively. 8. General Responsibilities - Maintain organized and labeled wiring for serviceability; ensure installations meet safety standards and best practices. - Maintain company work van: clean, organized, stocked with tools and parts, and up to date on service and maintenance. - Stay up to date with new AV, networking, and automation technologies; collaborate with team on ongoing improvements. WHAT TO EXPECT: Our office and warehouse are located in Beaverton. While our projects can vary in size and scope, the majority are multi-system installations for high end new construction and remodeled luxury residential homes. We mostly stay in the Portland metro area, but also frequently do work further out towards the coast and southern Washington and go east as far as the Hood River area. Occasionally we work on projects as far South as Brookings and Southeast as Bend. So availability and willingness for occasional out-of-town work is expected in this position, but with compensation via paid accommodations and daily per diem. Sr. Network Engineer - Japanese Bilingual
This position reports to the Manager of Network Services and will manage all aspects of the project including vendors and consultants to achieve goals on all the network projects with an enthusiastic willingness to contribute. The Senior Network Engineer must have rich experience managing enterprise networks, architecture design, implementation, migration, and operation management, which may involve the following technologies: LAN, WAN, Wireless, Network Security, Audio Visual, Voice systems, Server/Storage/Backup systems, etc. This role must be able to gather IT requirements, build and manage schedules, coordinate with stakeholders, and create status reports. Develops and maintains productive working relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders and key Business users. Facilitate efficient communication across all levels of a project & stakeholders involve ensuring consistency in reaching the project's goal. Works closely with the users and technology workstreams to identify requirements. Prepares cost estimates for staff resources, vendors, consultants, hardware, and service costs (i.e. WAN, Internet, voice circuits, etc.) Develop project plans, define team deliverables, and supervise the work of various team members.
