FreshTomato (www.freshtomato.org) is an open-source, Linux-based firmware replacement for home and SOHO WiFi routers, particularly those using Broadcom chipsets. It offers a user-friendly interface and features not found in stock firmware, including bandwidth monitoring, advanced QoS, and access control. It's a GPL-licensed project managed by the open-source community and is regularly updated. Current version in router is the latest release 2025.2 FreshTomato is a great firmware alternative with many additional features over the stock firmware. If desired the stock Asus firmware may be reinstalled.
