We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Engineer to join our growing Reston, VA Team. We are currently expanding our design services to support client and project needs in the Structural/Transportation focus areas. The successful candidate will assist in the design of simple and complex fixed bridges, movable bridges, and perform bridge inspections as part of a highly technical group. Responsibilities Perform structural design and analysis tasks for projects including bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects under the oversight of a Senior Engineer Prepare detailed plans and construction documents for the assigned tasks Perform engineering calculations pertaining to, and in support of, the detailed plans and construction documents developed Develop contract specifications, contract bid documents, and technical report writing Occasionally perform bridge inspections and load ratings on local agency structures Requirements BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-EAC Accredited Degree); Specialization in Structural Engineering (preferred) Virginia PE License preferred, or ability to obtain within two years A minimum of five years of Structural Engineering experience with a focus on bridge design (preferred) Experience in conceptual, preliminary, and final design and plan production of bridge projects following Federal, State, and Local Municipality codes Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD required, Microstation preferred) Experience with current FEM modeling software (preferred) Ability to work effectively as part of a design team Must be a highly motivated individual who is detail and goal-oriented, a self-starter, and proficient in both verbal and written communications Benefits We offer a professional work environment, competitive salary, benefits package, and 401(k).
