The Role We are looking for a Pastry Cook to join the Living Room culinary team. This role supports the daily preparation and execution of all pastry and dessert offerings, working closely with the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef to bring beautiful, flavorful creations to life. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in pastry techniques, a passion for creativity, and a commitment to excellence in every detail. This is a hands-on role that requires consistency, curiosity, and care—with an emphasis on quality, cleanliness, and collaboration. Key Responsibilities Pastry Production: Prepare and execute a range of pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods according to standardized recipes and plating guides. Team Collaboration: Work with fellow pastry and savory cooks to ensure smooth service and timely execution. Be a positive, proactive teammate who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Ingredient Quality: Handle ingredients with attention to freshness, seasonality, and flavor. Assist with receiving and properly storing pastry ingredients. Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a clean and organized station at all times. Follow all health and safety standards set by Living Room and local regulations. Learning & Development: Stay open to learning new techniques and recipes. Participate in tastings, trainings, and feedback sessions led by the Pastry Chef. Event Support: Contribute to prep and plating for private events, seasonal activations, and special menus as needed. Consistency & Presentation: Uphold high standards for pastry presentation and taste, ensuring each item meets our quality expectations. The Ideal Candidate Has a strong foundation in baking and pastry techniques. Enjoys working as part of a team and has a collaborative, positive energy. Is highly organized and detail-oriented, with pride in keeping a clean, professional station. Is passionate about pastry, with a desire to grow and develop new skills. Can work efficiently and gracefully under pressure during busy service hours. Requirements 1–3 years of experience in a pastry or baking role in a restaurant, hotel, or bakery environment. Formal culinary or pastry training preferred but not required. Familiarity with standard kitchen tools and pastry equipment. Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
