Carpenter/Maintenance Mechanic – Joint Base Anacostia- Bolling Competitive Wages and Employer Paid Health Insurance! EMI Services is excited to announce an opportunity for a Carpenter/Maintenance Mechanic to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, the individual will be responsible for carrying out a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on equipment, specifically as they relate to the skilled trades. The selected candidate will not only focus on repairing machinery and mechanical equipment but will also engage in essential carpenter duties, showcasing a diverse skill set. The position necessitates a well-rounded background in training and hands-on experience to tackle a broad spectrum of maintenance challenges effectively. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, possesses problem-solving abilities, and is committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all tasks undertaken. Salary $50.32/ hr. plus employer paid health benefits and pension! Key Responsibilities Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble Dismantle or partly dismantle machines and perform repairs Replace broken or defective parts Prepare written specifications for major repairs Reassemble machines and make all necessary adjustment for operation Perform carpenter duties to include but not limited to framing and finish work, painting, staining etc. Design , construct, install and repair wooden fixtures such as cabinets, furniture, shelving, doors, plaques and other custom wood products Performs other related duties as assigned Essential Skills Thorough knowledge of theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the trade Thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations pertaining to the trade Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including; alterations and repairs Must be able to read and understand blueprints as appropriate to trade Adaptable and flexible in work situations Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies - Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Requirements High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years’ experience as a carpenter/maintenance mechanic Experience must be in an industrial or commercial facilities maintenance environment MUST have a Top Secret Clearance Valid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check Regular, dependable attendance U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations Preferred Qualifications TS/SCI  Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces May spend long hours in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain May stand for long periods and frequently work on ladders and scaffolds Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions.   * Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
