Wine and Spirits Personnel (Brooklyn)

We are a wine and spirits boutique in Central Brooklyn conveniently located near the A/C/G.  We pride ourselves on supporting other small businesses, building community, and making excellent wine more accessible for everyone to enjoy!  Our staff is passionate about wine, building community, and working as a team to provide the best experience possible for our customers and surrounding community.   We are searching for team-oriented, outgoing, proactive, and extremely reliable sales representatives with a basic understanding of communications and operations in the food, beverage, and hospitality industry.  As we grow, there will be ongoing opportunities for the right candidate to grow along with us while learning more about the wine and spirits industry. Additionally, the right candidates will have opportunities to work directly with the owners and advance in the business, particularly through an operations track and a marketing track.  We provide free educational opportunities to expand wine and spirits knowledge and a generous employee discount. This job requires excellent communication skills and the ability to receive and implement direct feedback on performance.    Required Skills and Duties:    1. Knowledge of wines and spirits - willing to educate the right candidates.  ·  Passion for learning this industry, wine regions, spirits, and general small business management ·  Assist with maintaining wine and spirits list for the store ·  Ability to create enticing product descriptions for online and instore marketing 2. Customer service  ·  Excellent at helping customers with in-store sales and noting feedback in their accounts and within-store reports ·  Remote sales over the phone and through our e-commerce site ·  Putting deliveries together from delivery sites  3. Inventory ·  Receiving and storing deliveries  ·  Reconciling delivery and inventory reports weekly ·  Proactive restocking of products - you must be able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly and walk up and down stairs. ·  Work with the team to accurately maintain wine and spirits inventory ·  Provide feedback on stock to repurchase, stock to be discounted, and stock to be discontinued 4. Spirits/Wine Tastings and In-store events ·  Ensuring widespread public reach of events notices via online and in-store marketing ·  Assisting wine merchant representatives during the tastings ·  Assisting customers with purchases ·  Maximizing sales opportunities through recommendations and follow up 5. General store maintenance and cellar work. · Remove trash, dust, and mop floors and other cleaning duties as necessary.  ·  Maintaining cellar organization
