Our 8-bed personal care home is designed specifically for individuals under the care of a hospice agency and in their last months of life. Every aspect of Pappus House was constructed to provide all the comforts of home to our residents and their loved ones. Our care team is trained specifically in end-of-life care, and each person brings the passion and empathy necessary to walk this sacred journey with our residents, caring and advocating for their needs. • Join a growing nonprofit organization leading the way in end-of-life care. • Be part of a small, dedicated group of caregivers providing patient-focused care to our residents in a home atmosphere. • Leave work every day knowing you made a difference, advocating for and assisting our residents as they navigate their end-of-life journey, living life fully until their final breath. • Provide support for loved ones, enabling them to reclaim their role as family members. • Receive ongoing training and educational opportunities. • Focus on resident needs with above industry standard staffing ratios. General Duties: • Provide quality care and support to residents, family, and visitors at all times • Be prepared to assist in any way needed to ensure smooth functioning of the household • Engage in attitudes and actions compatible with the Pappus House mission and philosophy Functional Duties • Read and implement the personal care plan documented by hospice for each resident • Provide safe, respectful, and compassionate end-of-life and post-death care for residents • Support residents & their loves ones to facilitate comfort in the end-of-life process • Administer, count, and document medication for each resident • Communicate with hospice personnel as needed • Adhere to daily schedule guidelines for assigned shift • Oversee, assist and/or perform meal preparation, laundry and light housekeeping duties • Complete accurate documentation - record keeping and shift reports • Comply with all Personal Care Home rules and regulations Requirements • Complete & pass Department of Human Services direct care training course and competency test • Complete required Pappus House training and continuing education on an annual basis • Allow for criminal background check and drug screen • Strong communication skills and ability to retain privacy with sensitive personal matters • Actions and attitudes compatible with mission; compliance with policies and procedures • Reliable transportation • Ability to lift 50 pounds Equal Opportunity Employer
