PAID for Participation -Investigational Varicella Vaccine (Tucson)
910 W Ina Rd, Tucson, AZ 85704, USA
The Varicella vaccine is an immunization designed to protect against varicella zoster virus (VZV), the virus responsible for chickenpox. Chickenpox is a highly contagious disease that commonly affects children and causes symptoms such as fever, fatigue, and an itchy rash with fluid-filled blisters. While often mild in healthy children, it can lead to serious complications in infants, adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems. The vaccine works by stimulating the immune system to produce a protective response against the virus, significantly reducing the risk of infection. In cases where vaccinated individuals do contract chickenpox, the symptoms are typically much milder and of shorter duration. There are both single-antigen varicella vaccines and combination vaccines (such as MMRV, which also protects against measles, mumps, and rubella). The standard vaccination schedule includes two doses, usually given during early childhood. In clinical trials, investigational varicella vaccines are studied to evaluate their safety, effectiveness, and potential use in broader populations, such as infants under 12 months of age or those with specific medical conditions. We are seeking volunteers for a clinical study evaluating the safety and effectiveness of Investigational Varicella Vaccine. If you or someone you know may be interested, please contact us to learn more about eligibility and potential benefits.
