Join Our Team at Fausto – Sous Chef (Full-Time, Entry-Level) Fausto, a warm and welcoming neighborhood restaurant and wine destination located on Flatbush Avenue in the heart of Park Slope, Brooklyn, is seeking a Sous Chef to join our team. Our market-driven menu features elevated but approachable dishes with a strong focus on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative, respectful work environment where passion, creativity, and leadership can thrive. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned line cook with strong pasta experience who’s ready to take the next step into a management position. What We’re Looking For: We’re searching for a motivated, hard-working cook with a solid foundation in pasta prep and service, a positive attitude, and a desire to grow as a leader. You’ll work closely with our CDC and Sous Chef team to support service, manage prep, and start developing the skills to run a kitchen from both a culinary and administrative perspective. About the Role: Full-time position (includes weekends) You’ll assist with running daily prep and service alongside the CDC and Sous Chef You’ll be expected to step into pasta service confidently as needed This is an entry-level sous role with opportunity for growth in leadership, menu development, and kitchen management What We Expect: Minimum 4 years of experience in casual or fine dining kitchens Strong pasta experience is required Confidence working all stations and leading by example Ability to multitask and stay organized in high-pressure situations A strong work ethic, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to hospitality Your Responsibilities: Set up and close down your station following our high standards Execute prep and service across multiple stations, with a focus on pasta Assist with daily prep lists and managing the flow of service Take initiative in leading staff and maintaining quality and consistency Stand for extended periods (over 6 hours) and lift up to 50 pounds Carry out additional duties as assigned by the CDC and management team What We Offer: Competitive salary (based on experience) Health and dental insurance packages Commuter benefits and generous dining discounts A supportive kitchen culture with room to grow into higher management If this sounds like the right fit for you, we’d love to hear from you!
