Seeking a weekend AM baker and prep cook for a small artisan cafe near the beach in Capitola. Baking experience is preferred, although might be willing to train someone with strong interest/passion. Shifts are Saturday & Sunday, 6AM-12AM (however more shifts/later shifts could be available for the right person) We are a small, friendly & inclusive team. Our bagels, pizzas and pastries are small batch and high quality. Responsibilities include: -Shaping, boiling & baking off sourdough bagels (approx 5 dozen each day) -Baking off pre-prepped pastries (scones, cookies, muffins) -Baking egg frittatas - Portioning out & prepping pan pizza doughs -Mixing/prepping our sourdough -Prepping ingredients for the line (aioli/pickles/sauces etc) -Dishes (we all help out with this!) -Helping out on the line once we open at 9AM Compensation starts at $19/hr + tips

Responsibilities: - Deliver warm, genuine hospitality to every guest, anticipating needs and ensuring a welcoming experience. - Rotate across FOH positions: Cashiering: Operate our Toast POS system, process orders accurately, handle payments, and guide guests through our menu. Barista: Prepare and serve high-quality espresso drinks, teas, and signature beverages with consistency and care. Food Running: Deliver food and beverages promptly and knowledgeably, maintain cleanliness in the dining area, and support service flow. - Support daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring FOH areas are clean, stocked, and ready for service. - Communicate effectively with both FOH and BOH teams to keep service smooth and efficient. - Uphold SŌHN’s service philosophy, maintaining an approachable and guest-first attitude at all times. Qualifications: - Previous café, restaurant, or hospitality experience is preferred, but not required - enthusiasm and a guest-focused mindset matter most. - Strong multitasking and communication skills; comfortable switching between roles as needed. - Interest in coffee, tea, and food culture, with a desire to learn and grow alongside our team. - Reliable, punctual, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. - Availability to work shifts ranging between 8am–5pm, Wednesday–Sunday (hours of operation are currently 10am–3pm with immediate plans to expand).
