Retrograde Coffee hiring PREP/BOH team member (sebastopol)

Join our team of passionate individuals! We are seeking a back of house prep team member to join our crew. Food, bakery or prep experience is appreciated. Our ideal applicant is responsible, punctual, has good listening and communication skills. This job role is primarily an independent role: must be able to follow a list, read recipes accurately as to prevent waste and uphold a high standard for our house made goods. We are seeking someone who loves food, is reliable and wants to contribute to an upbeat, team-oriented environment. Our kitchen is clean and organized, with an easy to follow prep schedule posted for each day. Some items we make in house are cold drinks (iced tea, cold brew, lemonade), non-dairy milk, flavored coffee syrups, cookies, sandwiches, tofu and egg patties for sandwiches, and pre-packaged retail goods like loose leaf tea, cold brew coffee drinks and granola. Other prep duties include portioning ingredients for service like deli meat, veggie sausage and mixed greens. Prep team members also help prepare hot food for guests during peak hours, as needed. About the job: - Must be able to lift at least 50+ pound bags of dry goods like cane sugar, flour, nuts etc. - Must be capable of being on your feet for 8 hour shifts (outside of break periods). - Part time, 24 hours, 3 days a week: Monday through Wednesday from 6:30 am - 3 pm. - Pay starts at $18/hour plus tips. Hourly tips earned are about an additional $10/hour on top of your hourly wage. Paychecks are issued bi-weekly with tips included on Fridays. - Health care, sick leave, PTO and 401-k plans are available to all team members after 90 days of employment.
