Prep Cook (Downtown Long Beach) compensation: $20-24/hr + tips employment type: full-time, morning shifts 9am-3pm, 6 days experience level: senior level Ammatoli, a premier Mediterranean restaurant in Downtown Long Beach, is looking for an experienced Prep Cooks to join our kitchen team. With at least 7 years of experience in the restaurant industry, we are seeking someone with a passion for preparing authentic dishes and a solid background in Middle Eastern, Greek, or Persian cuisines. Experience with preparing kebabs and shawarmas is a strong plus. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and chop vegetables, cut meat, and organize ingredients as per the chef's prep list - Assist in the preparation of authentic kebabs, skewers, and other Middle Eastern dishes - Measure seasonings and prepare cooking ingredients to the highest quality standards - Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen, ensuring that all surfaces and tools are sanitized - Assist with inventory management and stock ingredients as needed - Ensure proper food storage and compliance with health and safety standards - Contribute to the kitchen team by assisting in various tasks as needed Ideal Candidate: - Minimum of 7 years of experience in a kitchen, preferably with experience in Middle Eastern, Greek, or Persian cuisine - Strong knowledge of kebab and shawarma preparation - Excellent knife skills and ability to work with various cooking ingredients - Ability to follow recipes and prep lists accurately - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment - Commitment to high standards of food safety and sanitation - A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Why Join Us? - Competitive pay based on experience - Health, dental, and vision benefits - Positive and supportive work environment - Discounted meals and staff perks To Apply: Please apply if you meet the qualifications listed.
