Key Responsibilities - Customer Service & Order Taking: - Greet every customer in a warm, friendly, and enthusiastic manner, going the extra mile to connect with them before they order - Anticipate guests' needs with empathy and strong interpersonal skills. - Take orders for deli items, sandwiches, beverages, and other cafe/deli products with efficiency and accuracy, cutting down on customer waiting times - Answer customer questions about menu items, ingredients, and promotions in a kind and caring way - Drink preparation: Pour coffee, teas, and warm drinks Cashiering & Transactions: - Accurately operate the point-of-sale system - Toast POS experience is a plus! - Process customer payments, including cash, credit, and other payment methods. - Issue receipts and provide correct change. - Balance cash register at end of shift Food Safety & Maintenance: - Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation for the deli counter and equipment. - Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure product freshness and proper handling. - Restock deli displays and ensure items are rotated. Workplace Operations & Cleanliness: - Maintain a sparkling clean and fresh dining room, wiping down tables after every customer, sweeping floors, and taking out trash throughout shift - Maintain a clean and organized work area behind the register & deli counter - Collaborate with FOH and BOH staff to ensure customer satisfaction, accuracy, and efficiency using strong interpersonal skills - Learn about promotional items, in store events, and menu items to better assist customers.
