Keeps director updated of any repair issues Follows safety precautions in all housekeeping services. Assures that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift. Regular attendance at the assigned work location is an essential function of the job. Competencies Must be able to communicate and work efficiently with other departments. Must consistently show caring and respect for patients, their privacy and property. Must demonstrate self-control and emotional stability in a variety of demanding situations. Must be interested in helping people and have a sincere desire to constantly improve housekeeping knowledge and skills. Qualifications High school education or equivalent preferred. Must have the ability to read and write and follow simple written and oral instructions. Cleaning experience is desirable, but not essential. Worker can reach full productivity after brief on the job training. Must know how to use common house cleaning devices, such as brooms, mops, scouring pads, etc. to keep areas clean and well serviced. Must know how to care for equipment, how to measure cleaning solutions and show awareness to hazards. Upon completion of six (6) months of employment at PMC, the EVS Specialist will be eligible to achieve an additional qualification as a Certified Environmental Services Technician (CEST) through the Academy of Cleaning Excellence (ACE). This certification must be completed within six months of becoming eligible. The EVS Specialist must complete two hours of continuing education each year after earning the certification.
