We’re opening a one-of-a-kind San Francisco destination from visionary Dante Buckley—featuring an inventive, upscale rum-forward bar program in a truly unique setting. With two additional locations already in the works, this is an incredible opportunity to step in early (starting January 2026) and help build something extraordinary. PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Bar Lead ensures exceptional guest experiences by overseeing bar operations with a focus on hospitality, quality, and financial responsibility. This position plays a key role in maintaining an efficient, well-organized, and compliant bar program while supporting and leading the bar team.
ABOUT YOU
You’re a seasoned hospitality professional with at least 5 years of bartending experience and 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role. You thrive in a high-energy, late-night environment and bring a passion for the craft of bartending—balancing creativity with precision to deliver consistent, top-quality cocktails.
You’re organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at keeping a busy bar running efficiently, from managing prep and inventory to supporting seamless service. As a leader, you know how to motivate and train a team, fostering professionalism, collaboration, and respect. Most importantly, you’re excited to help launch and shape a new upscale bar program with a unique opportunity to grow with a company that’s expanding into multiple locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Support
· Foster a positive, welcoming, and professional environment for staff and guests.
· Lead by example through strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
· Support company policies and ensure consistent application across the team.
· Assist in training, mentoring, and developing bartenders to ensure service consistency and quality.
Operational Excellence
· Oversee bar setup, cleanliness, zoning, and closing procedures each shift.
· Monitor and maintain bar organization, functionality, and efficiency.
· Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure standards of preparation, labeling, dating, and storage are followed.
Administrative & Financial Oversight
· Assist with ordering to maintain appropriate inventory levels within budget guidelines.
· Ensure invoices are coded, submitted, and tracked daily.
· Monitor purchasing limits and maintain compliance with company financial procedures.
· Contribute to semi-annual menu development and cocktail program updates aligned with brand strategy.
Training & Development
· Deliver training using materials provided by management.
· Support bartenders with ongoing education on products, service standards, and safety protocols.
· Scheduling & Staffing
· Provide input on bartender availability and staffing needs; final schedules will be approved by salaried management.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
· 5+ years bartending experience in high-volume or upscale bar environments.
· 2+ years in a supervisory or lead bartender role with proven leadership skills.
· Must be 21 years of age or older.
· Valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification (or ability to obtain prior to start).
· Current Food Handler’s Card (ServSafe or equivalent).
· Flexible schedule, including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience developing cocktail menus and working with spirits programs, particularly rum or specialty spirits.
· Strong knowledge of cost control, vendor management, and inventory systems.
· Familiarity with point-of-sale systems (e.g., Toast, Aloha, etc.).
· Track record of training and mentoring bartenders and barbacks.
· Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.

This position requires adherence to all applicable state and federal labor laws, including California wage and hour requirements, health and safety regulations, and food and beverage service standards.
