About Us: Copper City Bar & Grill is an American cuisine restaurant in Ansonia, CT, featuring a rustic ambiance, an open kitchen design, and a vibrant menu of seasonal, bold-flavor dishes.  While not purely Italian now, we are seeking to build out stronger Italian offerings (pastas, sauces, classic dishes) and need a seasoned chef to take charge of the back of house, train staff, and drive consistency. Position: Full-Time & Part-Time Italian Chef / Back-Kitchen Lead Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage all back-of-house kitchen operations (prep, line, plating, closing) • Develop, refine, and maintain Italian menu items (pasta, sauces, pizzas, antipasti, etc.) • Train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff • Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation • Ensure proper food safety, sanitation, and inventory control • Collaborate with front-of-house and management to adjust specials, menu updates, cost control, and procurement • Work efficiently under high volume, while maintaining cleanliness and organization Qualifications / Requirements: • Proven years of experience cooking Italian cuisine in a restaurant setting • Prior leadership/management experience in a kitchen environment • Strong knowledge of Italian techniques, ingredients, sauces, pasta, antipasti, etc. • Ability to lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff • Excellent organizational skills, sense of timing, ability to multi-task • Commitment to consistency, cleanliness, and food safety • Flexible schedule (evenings, weekends) • Ability to work full-time or part-time depending on availability What We Offer: • Competitive hourly wage or salary (based on experience) • Opportunities for growth, menu input, and creative development • Supportive management and collaborative team environment • Bonuses or incentives for performance (to be negotiated) • Flexible scheduling for part-time candidates How to Apply: Please email your resume, a cover letter highlighting your Italian cuisine experience, and 2–3 references.
