Executive Chef – Lagunitas General Store Location: Lagunitas, CA Salary: DOE + quarterly bonus + tip potential + perks ⸻ About Us The Lagunitas General Store is a historic community hub reimagined for today—blending classic deli traditions, fresh hot foods, and a vibrant gathering space for locals and visitors alike. We are seeking an Executive Chef to lead our kitchen and food programs, ensuring excellence in daily operations and driving creative, seasonal menus that keep our customers coming back. ⸻ Key Responsibilities • Operational Leadership: Oversee all day-to-day kitchen and facility operations, including hot food program, deli-market offerings, catering, and takeout/on-site dining. • Culinary Development: Provide the business with a fresh, seasonal offering of deli-market foods alongside an innovative hot food program. • Catering & Events: Lead all catering activities, from planning to execution, ensuring memorable guest experiences. • Compliance & Standards: Adhere to Marin County health department sanitation and safety standards. • Budget Management: Operate within budgeted labor and purchasing targets, ensuring business stability throughout the year, including off-season. • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing staff that upholds all company standards. • Collaboration: Partner directly with the owners on menu planning, purchasing, and long-term business strategy. • Commitment: Ensure peak service coverage, including holidays and weekends, with the flexibility to put in the hours required for successful daily execution. ⸻ Requirements • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar leadership role in a kitchen environment. • Strong understanding of food costing, labor management, and budget control. • Creativity in menu development with a focus on seasonal, locally sourced offerings. • Knowledge of Marin County health & sanitation requirements (or equivalent standards). • Excellent leadership, training, and team-building skills. • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Willingness to work peak hours, weekends, and holidays. ⸻ Compensation & Perks • Base Salary DOE • Quarterly Bonus Program • Tip Potential on certain services • 2 Weeks Paid Vacation per Year • Perks: Employee meals, gas allowance • Profit-Sharing: Catering profit participation (evaluated after 90 days)
