Chocolatier/Candy Cook Needed up to $25/hr Trained (scotts valley)

We are looking for another chocolatier/candy maker. We make beautiful and delicious handmade chocolates and candies to sell in our shop, at local farmers markets, on our website and to our wholesale clients. We source all of the fruit that we use from local farms and use locally crafted chocolate as well. Many of the ingredients we use are organic. Aside from working with chocolate and making candy, other tasks may include at times packaging, answering the phone, taking orders from customers, customer service, cleaning and anything else that needs to be done. The ability to multi-task is necessary. Our ideal candidate is someone who: -Has experience working in a commercial kitchen -Has some experience and knowledge of working with chocolate or making candy -Has a passion for food -Works well in a fast paced environment -Is detail oriented -Is motivated, hard working and can learn quickly. Having some knowledge of chocolate or cooking candy/caramel is a plus! Job requirements: - Has worked with food professionally - Can maintain a positive, professional relationship with co-workers and staff - Can maintain an organized and clean work station - Is willing to learn - Is motivated to work efficiently and is responsive Job description includes doing everything involved in making chocolates and candies, including clean-up and dishes. We make caramel and things with caramel, chocolate bonbons, bars and clusters, pates de fruits, marshmallows and Sour Strips. We also make some seasonal items around holidays. We juice all of the fruit in-house for our Sour Strips and pates de fruits, and so, at times, we get in flats of fruit to process. Packaging can be a part of this job at times, as well as customer service on occasion.
