We offer pottery classes for all levels and memberships as well. We are growing and looking for a conscientious person to grow with us. STUDIO TECHNICIAN: RESPONSIBILITIES: Studio Operations: Develop and support procedures regarding daily ceramics studio operations and maintenance, such as loading and unloading kilns, recycling clay using a pug mill, trimming and glazing pieces from one-time classes and events, and more Membership Program: Mature our membership program by expanding our offerings and creating a safe and supportive environment Administrative Support: Collaborate with the studio manager on communications in relation to studio operations QUALIFICATIONS: 1-3 years of experience working in a ceramics studio (at least 3 months of experience loading kilns preferred) Positive attitude when met with unexpected challenges Able to carry up to 50 lbs Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate the needs of others Able to work in a collaborative team environment Basic knowledge of GSuite Tools; Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc. Can commit to a part-time schedule (starting at 16 hours a week, with evening and weekend shift availability) Pottery Instructors: We're also hiring wheel-throwing and handbuilding instructors for 6-week classes, one-time classes and events! Our design studio is a dynamic, creative, and flexible work environment located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills in Placerville, CA. We are looking for a talented, flexible engraver to engrave our awards before shipping them to our clients. This role will primarily consist of preparing Adobe Illustrator files with engraving layouts, and then engraving these on bases or awards using one of our three laser engraving machines (Epilog, Trotec, and Galvo lasers). The ideal candidate will have experience using machines, especially the Galvo laser. However, we will train the right candidate in the use of these machines if required. You will need to be highly proficient with Adobe Illustrator and have working knowledge of the rest of the Adobe suite. You’ll also need a great eye for design and have a solid understanding of the fundamental rules of typography and typographic layouts. You must be able to follow workflow procedures and work in conjunction with our account managers, designers and production team to ensure projects are completed correctly and on time. Finally, depending on your skills and experience, you may also be responsible for taking and editing photos and videos of completed awards. As a small, dynamic family business, team members are often required to help in other areas, including packaging, assembly, and shipping. You will need to be flexible and willing to help in these areas as needed. Engraving - Technical Qualifications • Highly proficient with Adobe Illustrator • Fundamental knowledge/proficiency with Adobe Photoshop. • Fundamental knowledge/proficiency with Adobe Lightroom. • Proficiency with Windows5, as all our lasers only work with Windows. • Experience with a laser engraving machine (especially Galvo) strongly preferred. • Proficiency with Google Workspace and MS Office Suite. Compensation and benefits The position offers a base pay of $22/hour.
