We focus mostly on teaching kids ages 4-17 and have some adult classes as well. You must actually like and enjoy being in the company of humans. No previous teaching experience is required, but it is helpful. Our ceramics classes focus on hand-building, pottery wheel, and a combo of both. However, we are looking for someone proficient and passionate about throwing. Also, we often have a couple of dogs in the studio, so to reiterate, you must like dogs and kids. :) Perk if you are multi-medium disciplined, as we have both a Studio Arts Studio, as well as a Ceramics Studio, and love being able to cross over. This is a part-time job of 10-25 hours per week, which includes Saturdays and some Sundays. Our schedule shifts twice per year as we run regular weekly classes between Sept.-May, and summer camps June-Aug., so some flexibility is a must. During the school year our working hours are typically Mon-Fri 2-7:00 and Saturdays 9-3:30. During the summer we operate Mon-Fri 8:45-4:15. Qualifications: • Be actively creating ceramics • Proficient at both throwing and hand-building (but primarily throwing) • Energetic and enthusiastic • Reliable and punctual • Have an interest in learning and trying new things/quick learner • Be able to lift 50lbs. • Have studio tech experience Requirements: • Must not be afraid of children • Have a BA/BFA in arts (or be near to completion of degree) • Be able to multi-task and shift gears quickly • Be quick on your feet • Have the patience of a saint • Be organized • Like kids and dogs • Be an artist/creator • Be a team player and self-motivated

Established set building/custom fabrication firm seeking full time builder/carpenter/installers with cabinet making experience for set building projects, trade show booths, retail build-outs/activations and events. We are seeking experienced, motivated, and team-oriented individuals. Prior experience with set building or production fabrication is highly desired. Cabinet making skills and expert carpentry skills are mandatory. Drop Works has been a leader in set/scenic fabrication in the Bay Area for over 25 years. We design, source and fabricate scenic architecture for commercial photo shoots and product testing, both on location, in our on-site rental photo studio. We also design and fabricate permanent retail displays and buildouts, retail activations and custom event installations. We operate a large fabrication shop and commercial photo studio, located in Vallejo, CA. Self-transport is required as employees sometimes are assigned to begin work at offsite locations around the Bay Area. Early mornings, possible travel, evenings, weekends, and overtime are all parts of the role. We are hiring for builders for immediate full-time employment (40 hours per week plus overtime as needed). Responsibilities include carpentry based fabrication scenic architecture and permanent retail fixtures, logistics, transport and installation of sets and scenic architectural elements, custom fabrication projects for commercial customers and private events. A significant amount of tasks are completed in small teams, and being able to work well with other people under tight deadlines is a must. Strong mathematical ability also required to ensure accuracy and consistency when reading plans, measuring, fabricating and installing. • We require you to maintain consistent attendance with a strong focus on arriving to work at the assigned location, on-time, daily. Workflow and project efficiency is significantly improved when attendance is maintained. • Professional communication, attire, and overall demeanor with clients and colleagues. • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills. • Team-oriented, curious, and self-starting approaches to all aspects of the role are a must.
