Innovative Display & Production Company Seeks Prepress Supervisor to join our creative team. . This position requires expert knowledge and experience with laying out, cutting and mounting vinyl to various materials. The ideal candidate should possess leadership qualifications, able to work independently as well as part of a team, manage workload with short lead times, problem solve, and work with the other Creative Departments, this position reports to the Vice President of Production. Responsibilities include: - managing a print shop assistant - liaising with other dept. heads on all relevant projects - preflight customer files - prepress files for production - prepare proofs - operate RIPs (Onyx) - graphic and vinyl installation in house and on site - operate large format printing & cut vinyl machines - maintain large format printing equipment -able to laminate and mount Ideal candidate: - 5+ years’ experience in printing/vinyl industry - Knowledge of Vinyl and relative materials. - proficient in MAC & Windows - knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat - knowledge of CMYK, RGB, and Spot colors - AutoCAD & Rhino are a huge plus - understanding of digital, and large format printing - excellent eye for color - maintains a positive working attitude - strong written & verbal communication skills - is detail-oriented and organized - finds solutions when confronted with problems - excels at multi-tasking - Thrive in a fast-paced environment - works well with short lead times. - is self-motivated - is a team player Must have a flexible schedule as hours may vary. Established set building/custom fabrication firm seeking full time builder/carpenter/installers with cabinet making experience for set building projects, trade show booths, retail build-outs/activations and events. We are seeking experienced, motivated, and team-oriented individuals. Prior experience with set building or production fabrication is highly desired. Cabinet making skills and expert carpentry skills are mandatory. Drop Works has been a leader in set/scenic fabrication in the Bay Area for over 25 years. We design, source and fabricate scenic architecture for commercial photo shoots and product testing, both on location, in our on-site rental photo studio. We also design and fabricate permanent retail displays and buildouts, retail activations and custom event installations. We operate a large fabrication shop and commercial photo studio, located in Vallejo, CA. Self-transport is required as employees sometimes are assigned to begin work at offsite locations around the Bay Area. Early mornings, possible travel, evenings, weekends, and overtime are all parts of the role. We are hiring for builders for immediate full-time employment (40 hours per week plus overtime as needed). Responsibilities include carpentry based fabrication scenic architecture and permanent retail fixtures, logistics, transport and installation of sets and scenic architectural elements, custom fabrication projects for commercial customers and private events. A significant amount of tasks are completed in small teams, and being able to work well with other people under tight deadlines is a must.
