Maplehill School and Farm is a safe, caring, land-based educational community on 230 acres in central Vermont, where relationships inspire learning. We are looking for an Instructional Assistant (IA) who can bring enthusiasm and creativity to working one on one with middle and high school-age students. The ideal candidates are positive, dynamic individuals who will enjoy building resilience in students and be able to bring a deep sense of compassion and joy to this meaningful work. We engage our students with a holistic approach to education through academics, social/emotional learning, service projects, recreational activities, farming, and gardening. We are looking for a kind, patient and caring individual who can be both a helper and a friend. He is a happy go lucky guy with great sense of humor who loves music, road trips, going out to eat, walking the track at the YMCA and new adventures! He is fully independent with all personal care but needs help staying on task with his routines. Ideally we are looking for someone with experience or interest in special needs or autistic individuals. Responsibilities might include facilitating routines and assisting with daily tasks, promoting independence, transportation to work sites/community activities, etc. Pay rate $22.82/hour. Ideally a couple hours a day a few days a week but we are open to tailoring our schedule to your availability.
