Primary Areas of Responsibility and Availability Requirements Facilitate Youth Basketball Training Clinics (Year-round offerings of Skills, Drills, Development and Shooting Clinics are paid hourly versus lump sum for Winter) • Create engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for a variety of age groups • Provide support to ensure every participant is engaged and successful • Knowledge of age-appropriate sports coaching and instructional techniques • If given direction from Lakeridge High School Coaching staff – follow their agenda, teach their offense and defense and other drills they recommend Winter Season Coaching (if selected to Head Coach a team) • If invited by LHS Coaching staff, attend tryout process and provide criteria for ALL age groups, not “your team” • Be open to performance feedback and parent survey feedback at the end of each Winter Season • Winter season is a demanding schedule with two 90-minute practices per week, and an option to work an additional shooting clinic some weeks. In a 14–15-week season, teams will play in no less than 8 weekend tournaments (Saturday and Sunday), and up to 12 weekend tournaments including tournaments and state play offs for our most competitive teams. Travel fees for Coastal Tournament and State at Bend (if your team qualifies) are reimbursed at cost to you. Foster a Safe and Productive Environment (Command Presence Skills) • Practice excellent group control and effective communication to ensure participants learn skills correctly and prevent injury, especially in the younger grades where kids struggle to focus • Use age-appropriate behavior techniques to ensure an emotionally healthy experience • Engage in and model positive adult-child interactions between associates and children – this position is not for someone that struggles to control showing frustration or anger Communication & Relationships • Follow Coaching Code of Conduct and Expectations of Paid Coaches Document • Maintain being cleared by LOSD to interact with our players • Provide ideas to continuously improve our organization • Always maintain professionalism with children, parents and other Coaches. You will be a 1099 Contract employee who is responsible for your taxes on all income provided by LOYTBA to you.
