Job Summary We are seeking a creative and passionate part-time Toddler classroom assistant to cover afternoon hours in our Certified Family early learning program on a stunning heritage property in Lake Oswego. Essential Responsibilities - This is a part-time position is for 25-28 hrs/wk to cover the afternoon shift of 12:30 - 5:30 PM - Assist the Lead Teacher in providing care and support for children in a structured learning environment. - Maintain the mandated safe adult:child ratio of 1:4 at all times - Help with transitions, mealtimes, maintaining classroom cleanliness, and supporting activities. - Supervise children during playtime, meals, and nap times to ensure their safety. - Support the children’s personal needs, including assisting with bathroom breaks, handwashing, and proper hygiene. - Help prepare learning materials and activities that foster creativity, social-emotional growth, and cognitive development. Minimum Qualifications - Enrollment in the Central Background Registry - Step 3 or higher ORO (Oregon Registry Online) certification - Valid Adult and Pediatric CPR & First Aid & Food Handler’s certifications (or willingness to obtain). - Required trainings for Infant/Toddler and Preschool classroom workers per Oregon's Department of Early Learning and Care (or willingness to obtain) - A passion for working with young children in a supportive, nurturing environment. - Ability to collaborate with Lead Teachers and other staff to support developmentally appropriate growth and learning. - Strong communication skills and an eagerness to learn. - Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment. - Willingness and ability to adhere to best practices for high quality early learning. Tutor/life coach wanted for a sweet 26 year old young man with autism who is a largely non-verbal communicator. Recruiting at any level to become part of a team for an innovative home-based program.. This young man is engaged and gentle, and can do basic self-care. However, he has difficulty initiating conversations and expressing himself, sequencing tasks, and evaluating risk when overwhelmed. He requires guidance for some self-care (not toileting), to develop his communication skills, stay on task with his chores, to access online educational programs which support pre-vocational training, and to participate in the community. Be part of an innovative multidisciplinary team implementing a new neurodevelopment model of integrated independent Day Treatment Programming and vocational training designed to support those severely impacted by autism and other neurological disorders. This young man aged out of school at 23 at K/Gr1 level because he was nonverbal. By implementing an integrated program guided by Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral approach using Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) principles and Rapid Prompt Method (RPM) -- a letterboard communication system, and online prevocational academics, we hav seen explosive growth and are helping him realize his goal of going to college. He is on an accelerated path and he has gone from Gr1-8 in less than 2 years. He is now at Grade 9 but needs a lot of backfilling so all subject areas and middle and high school level welcome. He has a 1:1 aid from 730am-9pm and works on both classes and school work several times over the day most days (he thrives on a consistent schedule). He wants to learn and his growing pride will melt your heart. Includes online and in person training in the letter board system, team meetings, and the support of a great team! Also, even those working part-time accrue sick time. Position requires a commitment of 2 or more 5 hr shifts a week, including one 5 hr weekend shift, although accommodations can be made for 1-2 hr tutoring only shifts (allowing more time for his letter boarding). Must be 18 years or older, legal to work in U.S., speak and write English, have a valid driver's license, be willing to drive client, be willing to be get covid and flu vaccinations (he is immunocompromised), not also work in an indoor setting with a lot of people, and be able to pass a background check.
