Job Description: Substitute teachers carry out the daily educational program when a teacher is absent. As a substitute teacher, you will have an opportunity to amplify and develop your teaching expertise, provide a great learning experience for students and become an integral part of the school’s educational team! This position follows and teaches lesson plans, aids students in understanding subject matter, and ensures that regular classroom routines are followed. Responsibilities: Administer day to day lesson plan and provide quality instruction of classroom Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration Perform additional duties as directed by school administration Qualifications: No previous experience or certification required. The MRDC Bus Driver provides safe bus transportation for Head Start children, assuring that each child is picked up and delivered on schedule daily. Bus Drivers: Transport assigned children to and from Head Start centers efficiently and safely. Ensure that all passengers wear seat belts or are placed in appropriate (age or weight) car seats and belted in. Ensure that any behavioral issues do not compromise the safety of any child on the bus. Ensure that each child is delivered to the care of a responsible adult (on the authorized list) upon leaving the bus. Ensure that no child is ever left unattended while on the bus, following all procedures put in place to prevent a child being left behind. Visually observe the health of each child on the bus. Collaborate with Site Supervisor and families to design efficient bus routes. Requirements Must have, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED. Must have current CDL with Bus and Passenger endorsements. Must have a clean driving record. Must successfully complete a D.O.T annual physical, and a physical with TB test. Must pass a criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.
