Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference? Our beautiful nonprofit affordable housing community for seniors needs a compassionate, empathetic individual to be the first point of contact person in the front office. This person would work every other weekend, plus any following or preceding holidays. Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. Approximately 36 hours per month. $18.20-$20.20 per hour. Excellent communication skills. Ability to exercise good judgment and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to respond effectively to resident and physical plant emergencies. POSITION SPECIFICS: This person is responsible for job and personal criteria items below and such added related or similar duties as may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS - Educational and Personal Requirements 1. Age 18 or over. 2. High School graduate. 3. Neat and well-groomed in appearance. 4. Pleasing voice and verbal fluency to facilitate communication. 5. Punctual, accurate and conscientious in carrying out duties. 6. Pleasant personality, positive outlook and good moral character. 7. Genuine interest and liking for elderly and disabled people. QUALIFICATIONS - Skill Requirements 1. Ability to perform limited clerical duties. 2. Knowledge of employment policies and resident House Rules. 3. Ability to function in an efficient and friendly manner with all employees, residents, their families and the general public. 4. Ability to exercise good judgment and work independently with minimal supervision. DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND LIMITATIONS 1. Recognize and ensure that duties are carried out in such a way that is consistent with the spirit of service. 2. Answer the telephone promptly and correctly. 3. Ensures that visitors and guests sign in and out of the facility. 4. Ensure residents register when leaving and returning for extended periods of time. 5. Refer telephone calls, visitors and residents to proper department and/or staff member. 6. Follow instructions left in writing from Management personnel to do general clerical duties e.g. run off copies, set up files, etc. 7. Respond to the Emergency Call System alarm. Call 911 if a resident emergency exists. Follow emergency protocol procedures in reporting and notifying family member. 8. Respond to other emergency system alarms, e.g., Life Safety System and Security System and follow the applicable procedures. 9. Contact the on-call maintenance person for emergency maintenance issues as identified on the “Maintenance Emergencies” sheet. 10. Apprise Management by way of the facility log of any matter that relates to residents or physical plant issues. 11. Attend All Staff Meetings and other meetings as deemed necessary.
