Job Opening: Temporary Staff Accountant Location: Burdick Painting, Santa Clara, CA Duration: September 2025 – January 2026 (Approx. 4 months) Schedule: Full-time, Temporary, 100% On-Site Department: Finance & Accounting Reports To: CFO and Accounting Manager ________________________________________ What We Offer • Competitive Pay • Hands-on experience with a respected team during a critical business period. • Exposure to commercial construction accounting practices and tools. ________________________________________ About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to provide temporary coverage during a maternity leave from October through January. This role is essential in supporting daily and monthly accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, vendor management, and assisting with billing and collections processes. You'll work closely with our CFO and Accounting Manager in a fast-paced commercial subcontractor environment using Foundation ERP. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Daily • Input change requests into Foundation ERP. • Monitor AR inbox: flag/categorize billing due dates and collection responses. • Route and distribute incoming mail appropriately. • Support check deposits, payment applications, and waiver tracking. • Enter AP Transactions in Foundation. Weekly • Process and reconcile AP transactions in Foundation. • Manage vendor account sites for payments and updates. • Create and mail preliminary lien notices (pre-liens). • Send and track collections notices and client responses. • Update PM billing recap reports. Monthly • Administer credit card transactions and perform reconciliations. • Complete monthly billing cycles for all due-date periods. • Assist with CO logs and contract updates in Foundation. • Reconcile paint and equipment invoices to ensure accurate job costing. • Input charges and fees and distribute monthly billing reminders to project teams. • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed. Yearly (as applicable during term) • Support scanning, filing, and organization of year-end documents. • Assist in securing business license renewals or vehicle registrations if required. ________________________________________ Qualifications • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred. • 2+ years of accounting experience (construction industry experience is a plus). • Proficiency with ERP software, ideally Foundation. • Solid Excel and financial reporting skills. • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. ________________________________________ Apply Now We welcome candidates with more extensive experience as well.
